In the modern times, chia is extensively used and cultivated, either ground or whole in parts of South America. It is a common super food across the world, used commercially in smoothies, yogurt, tortillas, granola bars and breakfast cereals.

Chia seeds are rich in healthy fats and omega 3 fatty acids, which are extremely essential for healthy cardiovascular functioning. They are a rich source of dietary fibers, and could form an essential part of diet to promote weight loss. Potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium are among the essential minerals which are present in abundance in chia seeds. It as well contains vitamins A and C.     

Cocoa, which is the other principle ingredient in the preparation is rich in a host of minerals and vitamins, and otherwise contains caffeine, among other mention worthy nutrient.

Chocolate and Chia Seeds Pudding - Recipe

Ingredients Required 

  • 2 cups low fat milk
  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup sugar-free cacao powder
  • 3-4 tablespoon organic honey
  • 1 teaspoon fine ground cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon extract of vanilla

 Procedure of Preparation

  • Add all the ingredients except the honey in a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly to a uniform consistency.
  • Subsequently add honey and whisk thoroughly.
  • Refrigerate the mix overnight, or until it attains a pudding like consistency.
  • To be served chilled with a topping of choice like whipped cream, fresh fruits and granola.
