Kiwifruit traces its origin to northern central and eastern parts of China. The first mention of the fruit could be found as early as the 12th century during the reign of the Song dynasty in China. Kiwi is the national fruit of China and is mostly collected in the wild. Only very recently the fruit has been cultivated in the country of its origin at a commercial level. The early commercial cultivation of the fruit took place in New Zealand, where it became extremely popular among soldiers, who were posted there during the second world war. It was later exported to California in US as Chinese gooseberries. The rest as we know it is history.

Exotic Kiwifruit Chiller
- 4 ripe kiwifruits washed, peeled and chopped
- 2 cups of sprite
- Juice from 1 whole ripe orange
- 1 cup ice cubes
Procedure of Preparation
- Peel the oranges and chop them into halves. Find blend and filter to extract the juice or you may use a juicer.
- Wash, peel and chop the kiwis into small pieces.
- Add the kiwis, orange juice, sprite and ice cubes in the blender. Blend all the ingredients into a smooth consistency.
- Serve chilled. Garnish with a slice of kiwi on the rim of the glass.
